Design a Spring using helix tool

 Introduction

Helix tool is basic for knurling operation. Here I'm use helix tool for spring designing.this spring is contain two main process. First one is helix tool and another one is sweep tool.

I already post a details about sweep tool. I designed a pipe using sweep tool. For more detailes about sweep tool go through the previous post.

Helix tool

Helix is not a complicated tool. It's similar to tools like others. But this tool have lot of sub changes and sub methods. Using this tool to make springs easy one. Let I'm explain the process.

How to make a spring

Afyer change the settings to 3D modeling

1. Select the front plane as x-y plane.
2. Select helix tool and point at the center of anywhere.
3. Enter the inner diameter and outer diameter.
4. Total helix length and distance between the helix.
5. And press enter.
6. You can see the 2D design of our final output.
7. Change the view to left as a x-y plane.
8. Draw a circle of diameter how much thickness you want.
9. Select sweep tool and select the circle press enter.

And then select the 2D drawn spring by helix tool press enter. It will take some time for 3D. Now the 3D object is ready.
