How to design a nut and bolt component in Autocad

 Introduction

In this post you will learn how to design a nut and bolt. I got the idea from YOUTUBE randomly. And work with approximate dimensions. In this particular model I used circle, paragon, and the 3d tools are intercept and presspull.

Nut and Bolt

The nut and bolt is very important component in mechanical engineering. So they should know the designing procedure. I used basic tools for this drawing and modeling. The important thing I always told you that the plane choosing. Better choose front plane for revolve process and top plane for presspull process. But in this design I used front plane over the hole design. Let I explain the designing process.

How to design nut and bolt

First ensure that your settings in 3D modeling

  1. Choose front plane as x-y plane.
  2. Select the circle tool and draw a circle of the inner diameter (lengthy circle part diameter),outer diameter.
  3. Select presspull tool select the small circle enter a length you required and select big circle give a length you need and press enter.
  4. Select 2D polygon tool, there set number of sides are 6 and point it in the center of the circle.
  5. Give radius of the outer circle. Again select presspull tool select the polygon enter a value of greater than the outer circle length and enter.
  6. Select intercept tool first select the outer circle enter and the polygon enter. Now the bolt is completed.
  7.  Now choose the circle tool and point it in the center of the inner circle. Give radius of the outer diameter press enter.
  8. select the presspull tool and choose the circle give length of the outer diameter length.
  9. follow step4 and step5 for polygon.
Now you get the model.

My output

My output  looks great after completing rendering process. Our model may be looks different because of the fillet I use. So don't forgot to fillet the circular model. After complete the model use union tool for make the separate parts as one component.
